About Us!

The Alexander Family traces it’s roots to Jeanerette in southwestern Louisiana.  George was born in about 1858.  Georgianna Davis was born about 1868.   Little is known about their lives prior to emancipation but they are well documented in the following years. 16 years after the end of slavery George & Georgianna married. Born to that union were 15 children who make up the many branches of our Alexander Family tree. Census documents, a marriage license, and a death certificate help to put together the tale of their lives.

Welcome to their story.

With more than 3000 documented members the Alexander Family is a large one.  Descendants live all across the globe with a large number still residing in Louisiana and in nearby eastern Texas. The Alexander Family comes together every other year to maintain our connection and to share history. Our next reunion is scheduled for July 2017 in Southern California.

This website aims to be the portal for all things Alexander.  It’s pages will include family history, documents,  announcements and prayer requests, and information about our reunion.
